Our community has a good understanding of Indian culture and has enough opportunities to engage with it

Misson

(1) to concern ourselves with the social welfare of Indians who have decided to live in the United States, and to help them become a part of the mainstream of American life
(2) to facilitate involvement of the members of the Association in American community life through charitable, educational, and cultural activities 
(3) to facilitate communication and cooperation among the people of Indian Heritage worldwide; and 
(4) to facilitate participation in India through charitable, educational and cultural activities

History

  • August 20, 1967, The Association of Indians in America was founded  
  • 1973, Obtained IRS tax exempt status It is the oldest national association of Asian Indians in America.

For decades, our Wisconsin chapter has hosted Diwali Night, Dandiya Night, and many other events and efforts to bring together the community. 

We have donated furniture and food to college students, clothes to those suffering in the Afghan War, and try to bring our seniors together through our Seniors club.
